Tim has been a teacher for twenty years, including working as Director of Music in three schools. For the last ten years he has held that role at KEGS, a selective school in Essex. He has been involved in local politics for much of his adult life and was a Conservative councillor for four years.
Is music purely a practical subject or is there a case for a more academic study of the subject at school? This session will present a new perspective on the knowledge-skills debate: is music a clear example of where the education system gets it.
