Headmaster of Berkhamsted Sixth, one of six schools in the Berkhamsted Schools Group, Richard entered teaching in 2000 after a four-year stint working in finance in the City of London. He has worked in a variety of schools in the maintained and independent sectors, earlier on his career having enjoyed coordinating Careers and Work Experience in a highly selective maintained-sector school in North London, and latterly enjoying a number of academic and pastoral roles. With Sixth Form as a pivotal enabling experience for later life and, for many students, Higher Education, Richard is keen to ensure that bright students are suitably equipped with skills for a rapidly-changing workplace and commercial world. He has enjoyed overseeing the implementation of the Berkhamsted Mini-MBA and Student Consultancy, which provide these opportunities to students and form a key pillar of Berkhamsted academic offer in response to the 2015 A-Level reforms.
