Nigel Genders

As the Church of England’s Chief Education Officer, Nigel Genders has responsibility for the development of the Church’s national strategies and policies for education in relation to maintained schools, colleges and universities, and in parishes, deaneries and dioceses – to promote the highest quality of educational practice and to promote and support the Church’s voluntary work among children and young people.

There are 4,700 Church of England state schools, 500 Independent schools and 11 universities with an Anglican foundation.
